The Fairview Titan Minors Jr. Pro Football Team defeated the Burns Cowboys 56-22 on Saturday in the first round of the playoffs. The win advances the Minors to the second round of the playoffs and another step closer to a chance to compete in the Super Bowl game.
The Titan Minors have already enjoyed an exciting regular season, going undefeated in games against Columbia, Centerville, Burns, Lewis County, Mt. Pleasant, East Hickman and Perry County.
Fairview Titan Minors Coach Adam Stinson said, “It’s been an incredible 2021 season, and I couldn’t be more proud of these players’ heart, determination and team work.”
Stinson is also proud of how each player has improved. “We have 44 players on this team and every single one of them have progressed so much since day one. I’m very blessed to be coaching the older players that started with Coach Nate Mathis. They have been true leaders for the younger players all season.”
The second round playoff game will be hosted by Fairview on the Fairview High School field starting at 12 noon on Saturday, October 30. The Fairview Titans are hoping the community will help pack the stadium in support of the young athletes.
“We will be playing a very tough East Hickman team, and even though we beat them during the regular season, we can’t take them lightly,” advised Stinson.
