United Telephone Company shared this map indicating underserved areas in rural parts of Williamson County that will see broadband build up thanks to a new state grant.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) Commissioner Stuart McWhorter announced on Monday that the state will award $446,770,282 in grants for the expansion of internet access across the state of Tennessee.

That includes a $53,362,147 grant to United Communications which serves parts of Williamson County including areas in and near Fairview. United Communications is a subsidiary of Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation which serves Williamson County.
