Thursday is Election Day
NANCY STEPHENS
Main Street Fairview
This Thursday, August 4 is Election Day for several Williamson County offices, school board seats, Fairview city judge, city court clerk and State/Federal primaries.
For Williamson County voters, the election will decide county mayor, county clerk and county commissioner races. Each of those races are contested with incumbents vying against political newcomers. That includes a contested race for District 1 County Commissioner.
For Fairview voters, the election will decide the city judge and city court clerk with both races showing candidates Shannon Crutcher for judge and Gina Mangrum for court clerk running unopposed.
Williamson County registered voters who failed to take advantage of early voting can cast their ballot at any voting center across the county from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. See complete list of Williamson County Election Day Polling Places on page A2.
Voters must choose their party ballot upon voting and choose their preferred nominee(s) for each state/federal office. Regardless of party preference, voters can also cast ballots for preferred candidate(s) in each county-level race.
Additional information on ballots, candidates, where to vote, district lookup, and more can be found at www.williamsonvotes.net or WilliamsonChamber.com/Vote. See Election 2022 Williamson Votes chart on page A3 for more on tomorrow’s election and the upcoming November election.

The Fairview Area Chamber of Commerce has received a breath of life thanks to a new partnership with Williamson, Inc., which incorporates both the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development for Williamson County.
“I am thrilled to be able to welcome the Fairview community as a part of Williamson, Inc.,” stated Matt Largen, president and CEO of Williamson, Inc.
The new partnership was formed after the Fairview Chamber announced plans to dissolve after serving the community and local businesses for close to 40 years.
Concerned chamber leaders, long-time chamber members and new local business owners met in June to discuss the current situation and propose solutions. In July, a second meeting was held and included Williamson, Inc. representatives, who were receptive to the idea of forming a new partnership.
The majority of those involved described the Fairview Chamber’s partnership with Williamson, Inc. as a win-win for Fairview’s local businesses and both organizations.
Former Fairview Chamber president and long-time member Beverly Totty said, “This is a great way to continue to serve our Fairview businesses and network with other business leaders across the county.”
While many of the details are still being worked out, the new merger will allow Fairview area businesses the opportunity to join and participate in an organization that has experienced great success in promoting business and commerce in every community in Williamson County.
“I look forward to helping and supporting businesses in Fairview achieve success through this new partnership,” shared Largen.
More information will be shared in the coming weeks as Williamson, Inc. plans to host a Fairview Business Mixer on Thursday, August 18. The monthly Business Mixer series travels to each of Williamson County’s municipalities to connect and engage businesses throughout the county.
Largen noted, “Fairview is critical to the future of the Williamson County economy.”
Williamson, Inc. has already proven itself to be an essential part of the county’s growth and development. Largen noted, “We have been providing economic development services to Fairview for years, and even worked on the Vintage Millworks relocation program from Davidson County to Fairview last year.”
Another area where Williamson, Inc. has been actively involved is with educating Fairview youth to produce quality employees in industries all across Williamson County. “We have been involved and engaged in the mechatronics program at Fairview High and Fairview Middle for years, including funding classroom furniture at the high school,” explained Largen.
Totty added, “This is all possible thanks to a few strong, positive, forward-thinking community influencers with a heart and desire to see more growth and prosperity for local businesses in our community!”
If you want to learn more about the new partnership, watch for more details to come and mark your calendar to attend the August 18 mixer.
