Help fund 11U Travel Football Team’s journey to Rocky Top

The Southern Hitmen are returning to the Battle in Rocky Top on November 20.

The 11U travel football team known as “The Southern Hitmen” are headed back to the Battle in Rocky Top National Championship again this year!

The Hitmen are a group of talented small town boys, who know how to pack a big punch against teams from all over the country. The players come from various Tri-County League football teams including four players from Fairview. They are Tanner Tapp, Mason Seely, Tate Mathis and Aiden Quinonez.

These young men made some noise at a national level tournament last year. Working their way through the bracket with no team putting any points on the board against them.

They advanced all the way to the championship game against a team from Virginia before suffering a tough loss. It’s been a year and they are headed back to the Battle in Rocky Top with one become the 11U National Champions!

All they need is community encouragement and donations to help the families with travel expenses and tournament fees.

The Battle in Rocky Top tournament starts Friday, November 20 so donations are needed now. You can donate by searching “Battle in Rocky Top National Championship, Theresa Mathis” on Facebook. You can also drop donations in an envelope marked “For Southern Hitman” off at Stephens Auto Repair & U-Haul at 1730 Fairview Boulevard. Use the U-Haul drop box to right of the front door for after hours.

The Southern Hitman coaches and parents are confident these young men from Middle Tennessee are going bring home the gold this year with the community’s support.
