Many area athletes recently made their college choices official on College Signing Days including Fairview High School’s Brian Kuhn. Brian decided to continue his education and football career at Bethel University in McKenzie.

“I selected Bethel University to continue my academic and athletic career because my parents and I felt it was the best school to help me excel at the collegiate level. I genuinely like the coaching staff at Bethel and what the school has to offer academically and spiritually,” shared Brian.

Bethel Coach Dylan Benson could not be happier about Brian’s decision to sign with the Wildcats. “Our defensive line is called the foundation of our defense. Brian will help make our foundation stronger and will do what we need him to do without asking questions,” said Benson, has been watching Brian for over a year in hopes of recruiting him for the Wildcats’ football program.

Brian was recruited by several other universities including Centre College, University of the South, Rhodes, Culver-Stockton University and Butler University among others. Brian noted, “The recruiting process was much more difficult thanks to COVID. Most schools did not offer visits nor come to see you, so all your contact was online or on the phone. Also, current college players were granted an extra year of eligibility, which decreased the number of scholarships schools had to offer.”

As for extending his football career, Brian said, “I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to play at the next level and extend my athletics and academics to the collegiate level. I would not be where I am without God, my parents, and my whole family. I have pushed through so much adversity throughout my career and I would not have been able to do it without God and my family.”

Brian added, “I will continue to push and work the hardest I can and cannot wait to see what the future holds!”

Brian plans on majoring in Business and would like to minor in physical education.
