Whether you are the parent of a current student athlete enrolled at Fairview High, a former Yellow Jacket athlete, a local business or civic leader, or simply a community member with a love of high school sports, Fairview High School administrators and coaches are inviting you to attend a special Fairview High School Athletic Booster Committee Community Meeting this Sunday, May 16 at 5 p.m. in the Fairview Performing Arts Center.

Fairview sports teams and individuals continue to see great success year over year, leading to a growing number of state champions each year.

Long time FHS Athletic Director Ricky Jones, who has watched Yellow Jacket athletes soar to new heights and bring home championship titles, said, “I would love for us to ban together and build facilities to make future state champions!”

FHS Head Football Coach Chris Hughes agrees. Excited about the new artificial turf football field, Hughes added, “Fairview athletics is on the rise. We need you to be a part of that to keep it going in the right direction.”

Sports is a huge part of the learning experience at the high school level. Playing sports promotes physical fitness, teamwork, leadership and time management skills. Of course, the athletes enjoy shining the spotlight on the Fairview community, too.

Beyond promoting Fairview pride, sports can lead to improved academics in high school and increase opportunities for college scholarships after graduation. With sports teams led by good mentors, athletes can learn important lessons about hard work, respect and good sportsmanship.

For all those reasons and more, FHS Principal Dr. Kurt Jones wants the community to join their efforts to advance the success of the Fairview High sports program. Dr. Jones noted, “We’re excited about the direction we’re taking Fairview High athletics.”

Dr. Jones is asking for one hour of your time this Sunday, May 16 from 6 – 7 p.m. to share the vision of the future for Fairview High School athletics. Everyone is invited to attend and show their community support for Yellow Jacket athletics.

The Fairview Performing Arts Center is located on the Fairview High School campus off King Road.
