FHS’ Graduation Day this Friday

The Williamson County Ag Expo Center is set up for Friday night's commencement exercises.

After months of dealing with COVID-19 conditions and daily uncertainty, the spotlight will finally shine on Fairview High School seniors this Friday, July 17 as the Class of 2020 walk across the stage at the Williamson County Ag Expo Park to accept their high school diplomas.

FHS principal Dr. Kurt Jones posted to social media that he has been busy setting up for the event which is certain to be like no other graduation in the school's history.

The commencement ceremony will take place from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. with all in attendance required to practice social distancing guidelines to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus and keep everyone safe.

Fairview High School principal Dr. Kurt Jones noted, “Each graduate has received eight guest tickets to ensure that we are following Governor Lee’s and Mayor Anderson’s orders, as well as, guidelines for Attractions and Large Venues.”

There is no open public invitation. However, the ceremony will be recorded and posted to the Fairview High YouTube Channel for public viewing after the event.

Fairview High seniors have already been saluted with a YouTube video linked from the City of Fairview Facebook page. The video offers graduates congratulations and words of wisdom from Governor Bill Lee, Mayor John Blade, City Manager Scott Collins, Police Chief Zachary Humphreys and Fire Chief Scott Hughes. It also includes a list of the Fairview High School Class of 2020 graduates.
