Fairview High football fans, get ready for some Saturday night excitement as a swarm of former Yellow Jacket football players will return to East Hickman High School to compete in the Third Annual Alumni Football Game.
“I hope East Hickman is ready for these old school problems,” posted Fairview High alumni and head football coach Chris Hughes. He was referencing he and Fairview High Assistant Principal Chris Butler’s participation in the alumni game as “Double Chris Trouble.”
The latest roster reflects approximately 40 former Jackets signed up to take the field against the Eagles’ alumni players. Hughes noted, “Some former great players on this list from over 38 years, players from 1982-2020.”
Hughes and Butler will be joined by some blast from the past Yellow Jackets including Mitch Dowdy from the class of 1982; Kevin Mangrum from the class of 1986; and Blake Kelley and Keith Ursery from the class of 1987. They will be suiting up along with FHS class of 2000’s Mark McKenzie and Garrett Hall.
There will also be a few standouts from the past like Aaron Cothran with the class of 2003, Hunter Branch from the class of 2011, and Garrett Wall with the class of 2014. Hughes is excited to see the former players suit up once more and said the Jackets will have a lot of talent on the field.
The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. at East Hickman High School this Saturday, April 17. Tickets are $8 and will be sold at the gate.
