Seventeen-year-old Gavin Tapia has a special talent – and he recently shared his talent to create a one-of-a-kind Christmas gift.
Before the holidays, his aunt asked him to do a drawing as a gift for one of her best friends, and Gavin was happy to assist.
His aunt’s friend is a huge Tennessee Titans’ football fan, and the request was for a drawing of #22 running back Derrick Henry.
Drawing since he was in first grade, Gavin quickly put his creativity and artistic talent to paper to create a colorful drawing of Henry sitting upon a ‘King Henry’ throne complete with a crown. The drawing offered an accurate likeness of Henry, who recently surpassed 2,000 rushing yards for the season.
Making the drawing even more special, Gavin’s aunt shared, “Once she received the gift, she was able to get it autographed by Derrick Henry.”
Mom Amy Tapia said Gavin’s interest in drawing began with his love of comic books as a young child. “Spiderman is his favorite. That’s what started it all. He can draw a pretty mean Spiderman,” shared Amy.
A senior at Fairview High School, Gavin plans to attend college and seek a degree in graphic design. He ultimately hopes to work in the comic book industry.
