Whether you are a fitness buff, a nature lover or a dog owner, you will want to be sure to join the First Annual Fairview Furry 5K happening this Saturday, October 24.
The event begins at 7 a.m and continues until 2 p.m. Participants are encouraged to start by 12 noon to allow for a 2 p.m. finish.
This event offers local residents the opportunity to support a good cause and bring their canines to run or walk the trails of Bowie Nature Park at your own pace.
You can even bring your dog in costume and event organizers will post photos to social media! There will be a photographer on hand and a costume contest for the dogs. There will also be goodies and the Humane Society will be set up with animals seeking their fur-ever home.
This event is hosted by the local Fairview Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Shelter Insurance – Brian Wutz Agency, Dr. Daniel Sherwood with Dickson Medical Associates, Tractor Supply and Firefly Farms.
You can register online at www.fairviewfurry5k.com and the entry fee is $30 which includes a t-shirt on the day of the event. If you cannot attend and want to donate, sign up and the t-shirt will be delivered to you.
